Illustrator is very easy and fun program to use. I for one found it to be the best editing program to learn and use to create web pages. In illustrator you can create or edit any image or object making it very useful to get your creative juices flowing. Unlike Photoshop, illustrator’s tools are much more user friendly.
Illustrator is vector based program, witch means shaps or lines are put together by mathamaticl equasions so no picselation in images. Witch means you can make any shape or image any size and it will still look normal and not picselated. Alot of graphic designers use the program and then main reason for this is the program is that easy to learn, any idiot can call him self a designer if he is using illustrator.
Discusing the basics of illustrator, Its got the all the functions that photoshop has. the selection tools that does just what it sounds like. you use it to select an object or image if you want to cut it or edit it in any way. You can also use the magic wand tool to select or deselect an object or image.
The best function how ever for me is the perspective grid tool because I work with 3D images alot it makes it easy to design a 3D model of a bulding or image to give a client a beter view of the bulding or image he wanted you to design.
Hey Christiaan, ‘Springhaas’… I haven't used that name in a long time. Well done on your blog. I Love the English…Hehe
ReplyDeleteI think I have repeated myself so many times on other peoples blog posts saying that I prefer to use Photoshop but I will definitely agree with you in this case about what you were saying, how Illustrators tools are a lot more user friendly than Photoshop... I personally wish Photoshop and Illustrator could be incorporated somehow, having the best of both worlds. One of the things I love about Illustrator is the Pen Tool; it makes life so much easier.
I look forward to reading more about Illustrator from you in the future.
Thanks for the explanation Springhaas. Detailed explanation of Illustrator, giving good examples of tools.
ReplyDeleteIts been a while since I last used Illustrator for any designs. At the moment, I'm more used to using Photoshop, although when the time comes when a vector design is needed, I would say that there's no better software.
I recently heard that the CS5.5 Adobe Master Collection upgraded to CS6. What changes do you foresee from CS5.5 to CS6?
Hey hey Christiaan
ReplyDeleteSo I guess am officially a Designer because I use illustrator :P lol
I've been using Illustrator a lot these days. I always saw the program as lame because the tools where a little bit hard to use and let’s face it it’s not Photoshop. But after working in Adobe Illustrator for a while I started getting used to how tools work in the program and it really changed my view about the product! But like you say if you want to create a vector image that won’t pixilate Adobe Illustrator is the program to get the job done
Great blog post, hope to see some blogs in the future!
Hi Springhaas, smaak your blog, you should maybe just do a spell check before you post next time but hey, maybe its just a few extra word
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you, any idiot who uses Illustrator can call themselves a designer because it’s just that easy to use which is why I prefer Illustrator myself instead of Photoshop mainly because its so much more user friendly that Photoshop and Illustrator also has all the functions.
Keep up the good work
